You Saw This Coming of the Day
In response to the tragic news of the Connecticut school shooting this morning, a White House petition has been already launched to urge the Obama administration to regulate access to deadly firearms in the United States:The goal of this petition is to force the Obama Administration to produce legislation that limits access to guns. While a national dialogue is critical, laws are the only means in which we can reduce the number of people murdered in gun related deaths.
Banning guns will not reduce the number of gun related deaths. Here are some simple facts.
- It is against the law to murder someone. But yet criminals continue to murder.
- It is against the law to bring a gun into some places, such as schools, hospitals, and also the movie theater in Aurora, CO. But yet criminals continue to carry guns into places they aren’t supposed to.
If you make it against the law to own a gun, do you really think the criminals that break all of these other laws are going to suddenly start obeying them? They won’t. They will continue to get guns illegally and they will continue to use them for criminal activities like armed robbery and mass shootings. All your gun control will do is limit law abiding citizens with legal carry permits from being able to step in and help out in situations where criminals are ignoring the laws that we all follow. If you ban guns, I only see crime getting worse because criminals will know that no matter WHERE they go, they won’t be stopped by a citizen with a concealed carry permit.
Dammit, thank you Zeb.
A lot of my friends disagree with me completely about gun control.
I took a concealed weapon class and am applying for a permit because of exactly this. No matter what laws exist to limit guns, the “bad guy” will still disregard the laws. My right to bear arms allows me to protect myself when my government cannot insure that I am safe. Though I never want to be in a situation where using deadly force, I educated myself so that I would know how to handle potential life or death situation. Bottom line, guns do not kill people; people kill people. I hope this tragic event can bring forth a discussion of not only gun control but also the mental state of our citizens.
The shooting today was obviously a tragedy. Any man women or kid that can walk into a school of innocent children and open fire doesn’t deserve so much as a scrap of freedom but just because the scum of the earth get’s ahold of weapons and uses them for wrong doesn’t mean you or I can’t use to them properly. Weapons should not be regulated any more than they already are. The system we have now works. Anyone who should not have a gun cannot legally buy one. If you buy one illegally you are subject to legal punishment. Where as a law abiding citizen who has a clean record in most areas of the united states can purchase a firearm. If the shit heads have guns and are using them then why can’t good people like us fight back with them. I’m not saying become a vigilante, I’m saying take a concealed carry course and arm yourself, for your safety and the ones around you. It’s an eye for an eye. I’ll be damned if I abide by any law that disarms me while anyone around me at any given point could be a threat to my life and wellbeing.
Haven’t been on here for a while so I’m posting a picture of myself while drawing and listening to Life of Agony.
I never really get on I started a new job not too long ago and I’m really busy now.
